Saigon South International School (SSIS) is a
college preparatory school teaching an American style curriculum. The
current student body of over 700 consists of students from Pre - school
through Grade 12. They come from 30 different countries. The faculty of
90 teachers are mostly of American and Canadian nationality.
Job description
1. Assist students and staff in the circulation
of library materials, use of the online catalog, and use of online
database resources.
2. Perform a variety of clerical and computer-related tasks as assigned.
3. Prepare circulation desk for services on a daily basis with needed supplies.
4. Responsible for shelving, straightening and shelf reading of library materials.
5. Pull library materials which are needed for class use, or which need to be mended, discarded and/or replaced.
6. Process new library materials received for circulation.
7. Process periodicals received for circulation.
8. Sort returned materials by type, location, or unit of library to which assigned.
9. Check to see if returned materials are overdue. Produce overdue reports.
10. Examines returned materials for obvious damage.
11. Records receipt of payment for lost or damaged materials.
12. Answers borrower's questions concerning circulation rules.
13. Assist School Library Media Specialist with class library schedules and scheduling of library assistants.
14. Assists in training of volunteers and new library assistants in circulation procedures.
15. Maintains professional appearance and behaves in a manner appropriate to a public setting.
16. Performs reliably, dependably with a good record of attendance, punctuality, flexibility and time management.
17. Develops work-related goals and objectives.
18. Develops job-related abilities, skills and knowledge.
19. Attends library-related meetings, workshops and any training or in service programs.
20. Performs other duties as assigned by the School Library Media Specialist and HS Principal.
Job requirement

• University Degree

• Experience in using office equipments and software program utilized by the school libraries.

• Ability to be organized and flexible
