Job description:
RMIT Vietnam is creating an innovative research, teaching and learning
culture and is committed to providing internationally recognised
high-quality education and professional training for its students,
clients and members of the community.
The key focus of the position is to provide clients with accurate information about the library’s monograph/audiovisual collection by creating, retrieving and manipulating data which effectively describes and identifies the materials available. Perform cataloguing and classification of library print and non-print materials in accordance with current international bibliographic standards, local cataloguing and processing practises. Participate in development of department policies and procedures with other librarians in a team environment.
The successful candidate will have:
1. IELTS cetificate 5.5 or equivalent.
2. A relevant tertiary qualification in related field.
3. At least 2 years working in a library or an academic environment
4. Working knowledge of Dewey Decimal Classification system, AACR2, MARC and Library of Congress subject headings.
5. General knowledge of wide range of subjects in order to appropriately classify and select materials for the library collections.
6. Working knowledge of print, non-print and electronic resources available from a wide number of sources, including publishers, the Internet, and library and vendor-based systems
7. Proficiency in integrated library systems, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint)
