Job description:
I. Library Responsibllities
• Process borrowing and returning of all library resources.
• Properly shelves all library materials.
• Cover books with protective plastic.
• Catalogue new resources by entering them into the computer system.
• Receives application for and grants library cards.
• Instructs students and others in library use
• Issues overdue notices and collects all books.
• Conducts full stock take twice a year and student books quarterly.
• Keep all records for receiving and delivering book.
• Repair damaged books.
• Assist with library timetable for class usage.
• Inform Principal/ Administrator any loss of books by students and staffs.
• Work with teachers and students to maintain an orderly atmosphere.
• Maintains a tranquil library environment by reinforcing basic library behavior rules.
• Reinforce the rule of no children in the library without teacher.
• Keep work areas and library neat.
• Decorate the library and maintain all boards.
• Assist teachers and students find resources in the library.

II. Computer Lab responsibilities
• Assist with computer lab timetable for class usage.
• Check computers are turned off at the end of each day.
• Report to admin the need for computer repairs or maintenance.
• Assist with smooth operation and proper use of the computer.
• Reinforce the rule of no children in the computer room without a teacher

III. Extra duties
• Helps organize special exhibits and other school activities.
• Prepare notice boards and back drops for concerts and school activities.
• Attends staff meeting. 
 

Job requirement

BA degree in related fields with 1 year working experience in relevant positions.
- Good communication skills in Vietnamese and English.

With the aim of building an advanced model in the higher education system in Vietnam, promoting innovation and bringing the quality of higher education in Vietnam to a high level in the region and the world, University of Science and Technology of Hanoi (USTH) was established in 2010 in Vietnam. USTH is operated under the Intergovernmental Agreement between Vietnam and France, signed on December 11, 2009 and the Decision No. 2067/QD-TTg dated December 9, 2009 of Prime Minister.
As an international public university with a new model of organization and operation, USTH is offering a teaching program in association with plenty of practical exercises and internships at the USTH and at our partners’ laboratories, such as research centres, enterprises in Vietnam and abroad. USTH is strongly supported on the academic field through a French consortium of over fifty higher education and research institutions and by French government. USTH plans to increase its student number to 5000 within ten years and to develop strong interactions between education, research and industry

Job description:
 
Function

The main focus of this position is to manage library and information services for USTH scientists, lecturers and students.

Duties

To provide expert knowledge and skills in defining requirements, setting up, managing libraries and information services to USTH staff, scientists, lecturers and students.
This entails multiple responsibilities and interactions, depending on the situation. Specific duties will include:

• Defining needs, requirements, methodology on setting up, managing and maintaining book library and e-library for USTH staff and students
• Defining needs and functional requirements for distant learning, teaching system and information system and Implementing other tasks assigned by the Rectorate Board.

Job requirement

A Master’s degree or Bachelor one with 5-year working experience in Library and/or Information Science
• At least 5 years of experience in an equivalent position, working experience in the field of science – technology will be highly appreciated
• Computer proficiency, including use of specific software for library management, MS Office (Access, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook,…)
• Having been trained in documentation science and in assisting researchers in their search for scientific and technical documentation.
• Being familiar with scientific databases
• Excellent spoken and written English, a knowledge of French will be a plus
